wonderful world of library

library or production music was made specifically for television and film, it was never commercially released and pressed in small numbers. it is always really fascinating music in the sense that  its emotive, dynamic and liberated from the constraints of a buying audience. its a really interesting field to collect within, albeit a number of records can be eye watering in regards to expense.... do not let that put you off!

many of library records have mysterious covers which do not reveal the secrets of their grooves, such as the  kpm racing green sleeves or the conroy label's fabulous marmalade sunburst sleeves....

both kpm and conroy are classic in their minimalist design however many other library music houses developed a much more 'out there' and creative sense of design, this section of the blog entitled wonderful world of library will focus on some of these covers......
