digging in the crates / japanese special part 1

El Sur records

On the 10th floor of what seemed like work space units, with
little Kafkaesque doors - I didn't know what to expect...
In i went to find a nice and cosy room with lots of World,
African and Asian sounds!

 Disk Union

There are lots of these places scattered about central Tokyo, sometimes occupying a whole ten floor building with each level specialising in something. This is the basement of the Shibuya branch, which has a big selection of funk, soul, Latin, rock and jazz. Found a few bits in here but short on time to really get amongst the 7 boxes.
 Face Records

Face records is a wicked little shop in Shibuya with funk, soul, jazz and hip hop. Minimal layout and decor with plenty but not
mountains to dig through. I picked up a few cheap lps and i
will be heading back here if I get chance!
