digging in the crates

honest jon's in ladbroke grove west london. the area was famous for the emergent uk hip hop scene. its a nice area just to walk about lots records around and to be found on the portabello market etc. the shop is small but rammed full of new releases and reissues especially funk and soul. the numero section is well worth checking and will keep fans of the label happy. worth a mention is the 'outernational' selections loads of oddities including tamil/indian disco, african funk a good representation of labels such as 'awesome tapes from africa', 'sublime frequencies' and 'dust to digital'. big on the reggae here too.
